An inspection request (formally called a State-Sponsored Inspection and Dispute Resolution Request) has been filed: What do I do?
- Don't ignore the request.
- Provide documentation of your position regarding the defect(s) that is responsive to the inspection request.
- Request the opportunity to inspect the defects when you are notified that an inspection request has been filed.
- Attend the inspection.
- If you provide documentation to the inspector, provide a copy to the homeowner also. Failure to do so will void the information and the inspector may not use it in the report.
- You are entitled to appeal the inspector’s report. New information that was not available to the inspector will not be considered by the appeal panel.
- Take note: Additional information may not be submitted after the inspector writes the report.
- 45 days after your case has been closed you are required to send in a 45-day report of the status of the repairs (if any) or other resolutions
